#ISoar with UNF as a tour guide.
Heather Pituch is a Health Administration student and a very involved Osprey. She has been a student orientation leader and is also a member of the Swoop Squad. She hails from Melbourne, FL and says that choosing to attend UNF was the “best decision” she has ever made in her life.
As a high school junior, Heather visited many different colleges. She wasn’t familiar with UNF, but as soon as she stepped onto the UNF campus, she knew it was the perfect fit for her.
“I remember parking in the Student Union, and even just seeing a small part of campus, I looked at my dad and said, ‘dad, this is my school.’ He didn’t believe me. He said I still had other schools to tour. And I looked at him and said, ‘no, dad. This is the prom dress feeling. This is it.’”
After getting admitted, she immediately got involved. She participates in a number of events and tours as a Swoop Squad member; she is an orientation leader for incoming freshmen; and she recently started working as a fitness trainer at the UNF Student Wellness Complex. She enjoys interacting with others and especially loves to see how excited the new freshmen are about UNF.
She may be busy academically, but she still makes time to have fun. “One of my friends from the gym asked me to go paddle boarding for the first time, and it was so much fun that we made it a Friday tradition.”
She is now focused on landing an internship with a healthcare facility in Jacksonville and will graduate in 2017.
