Alumni Profile: Exercise Science

Jacqueline Squire graduated from the University of North Florida’s Exercise Science program equipped and ready to apply for medical school. Read how Jacqueline soared as an Osprey!

jacqueline-donia-squire-profileUNF gave me the opportunities of a lifetime. The Exercise Science program prepared me to choose between obtaining a graduate degree or start working full-time. I loved the small sizes and individualized attention provided to me by the faculty. Their encouragement and guidance prepared me more than I ever thought I needed to be.

Throughout my time, I was able to compete and lead our team in the Southeastern College of American Sports Medicine College Bowl. The program prepared me for my senior internship at Baptist Hospital in the Cardiac Rehab program. Everything I learned, I applied to my internship and on top of that I was learning and improving my skills and theories. The direct patient care was more than I could have asked for as well. My professors impacted me, they inspired me and helped me find and follow my passion for preventative medicine and the importance of diet and exercise. They influenced me to apply to medical school and continue to learn and use my skills. I was challenged, but I was given the education of a lifetime.

When people ask me where I went to school, I am proud to say that I was an Osprey. At UNF, we are given the skills and education needed for us to fly to new heights. I hope you fly with us too!
