Why did you choose to go into college admissions? I stumbled into it. I was offered a job as the office secretary and then fell in love with the field. I love working with people and I have a passion for UNF.
What do you like best about working in admissions? The travelling and being able to tell students and families about UNF and what I think are some of Florida’s best kept secrets.
What is one of the quirkiest things an applicant ever did with their application? Sent in two applications at the same time!
What makes an application essay really stand out for you? Something that is funny! I had one student write about her collection of socks and I thought it was awesome!
What common mistake do you see regarding application submission? Not applying early! The earlier a student applies, the better!
What is the funniest thing you’ve overheard or seen while at UNF? Weirdest club that was ever at UNF – The NERF Gun War Club – I don’t believe it is still around though.
What is your favorite place on the UNF campus? The Green. You can just lounge around between classes or play Frisbee or sometimes even visit vendors and clubs that set up out there.
What is the craziest question you’ve ever been asked while recruiting for UNF? Can boys try out for the girls swim team?
If you could join any club or organizations, which one would you join? Amnesty International – I have always wanted to save the world!
What song or book or movie makes you think of your college days and why? The ‘Boots with the Fur’ song. My roommates and friends would always turn on the song when we were going anywhere or even just cleaning the dorm.
What is your “go to” answer when someone asks why he/she should choose UNF? The class sizes, academics, and general feel of the campus. I love that we are on a nature preserve and I can always find someone I know on campus.
Give us a piece of advice you wish someone had given you when you began college? Get Involved with as much as you can!
I was wondering how exactly will I find out if I am accepted or not?
